Guangxi Vocational & Technical Institute of Industry was established in 1956 and has near fifty years history. It is a national general high college which offers subjects of literature, science and engineering.
Advantageous Location
The institute is situated at 37 Xiuling Road , Chengbei District, Naning City , Guangxi, where Guangxi's colleges and universities are located densely and has good transport facilities. It's just 10 minutes to the railway station from the institute, and there are through bus No. 14, 72，31，803 or 218 to the gate of the institute.

    The institute occupies areas of 233 mu . It offers a peaceful and secluded campus and pleasing environment for the students. The library comprises 288,000 volumes. The institute provides experimental buildings for mechanical and electronic experiments and chemical and industrial experiments, computer centre, mechanical plant, the practice sites of refrigeration and air condition, model design and manufacture, electric motor and drag, electrical control, fluid machine, machinist and fitter; training practice rooms of computer aid design and stimulation; eight training sites for getting the certificates of fitter, electrician, refrigeration maker, analyst, alcohol worker, food producer, CAD draftsman and ATA(American Testing Authority). In addition, there are the laboratories of mechanical components, metal material, mechanics, chemical industry, machine, numerical control, refrigeration, instrument, electrical engineering, electronics, domestic appliances, analysis, biochemistry, fine chemistry, automation and the practice places of metalworking, installation and repairs, sugar manufacturing machinery maintenance, adding up to 70. It also has 9 multimedia performance classrooms. The institute's total fix assets are about RMB 86,000,000 yuan among which the value of experimental and practical equipments is 16,000,000 yuan . The institute provides students with fifteen buildings of students' apartments, twelve plastic cement basketball courts, two tennis courts, three volleyball courts and four badminton courts. At present, a comprehensive teaching building and two buildings of students' apartments are being built. Within recent two years, the institute plans to build one plastic cement standard track-and-field sports ground, one gymnasium, one swimming pool, two buildings of training and practice centre and purchase the land about 2000 mu for building the second campus.

    The institute now has 386 staff, among them, there are 249 full-time teachers, 94 assistant professors and senior lecturers, 155 lecturers, engineers, and laboratory technicians, 38 “two-title” teachers and 40 teachers with graduate degrees. More teachers have participated in the compiling and examining work of teaching materials and teaching programs involving over specializes in whole country and gain rich achievements in teaching and scientific research.

    The institute has six departments of electromechanical engineering, chemical engineering, food and biological engineering, computer engineering, electronic information engineering, social science and management and a section of sports, and offers 32 specializes and five-category subjects of electromechanical engineering, electronic information, light industrial and chemical engineering, business management and industrial art, and runs two schools of ordinary technical secondary education in Beiliu and Qinzhou of Guangxi. The institute has several educational forms including three-year higher vocational education, “3+ 2” five-year higher vocational education, three-year ordinary technical secondary education (flexible credit system) and short-term training. The institute also offers correspondence undergraduate and collegiate education for the adults and the college entrance examining guidance classes, which cooperates with Beijing Chemical University, Nanjing Normal University, Wuhan Engineering University, Shenyang Institute of Chemical Industry and Yunan Institute of Finance and Economy. It is also a designated training base in Guangxi for the people with jobs in the trades of refining sugar with sugarcane, production and sales of dangerous cargo and chemicals, electrical engineering and refrigeration. At present, the institute has 7957 students, most come from our Region, and some from Liaoning , Sichuan , Guizhou , Hainan and Guangdong provinces.

    The institute demands the students become experts in one field while possessing all-round knowledge and ability and gaining multiple certificates to meet the talent need of the market and get the edge on the others in the employment market, and the institute has Nanning Training Centre of China Sugar Industry, Special Professional Skill Training Site of China Light Industry, State Professional Skill Evaluation Institution, State Special Professional Skill Evaluation Station, the examination places of College English Test and National Computer Rank Examination, ATA examination station, and is authorized to be Autodesk Training Centre. The students will have the chances to get the certificates of fitter, electrician and the certificates of skills in AutoCAD, analytic chemical examination and chemical technology before graduation from the institute.
